We went to the woods last week. Family camp is the most anticipated thing on our household calendar all year long. It beats family visits, birthdays and Christmas. It is the EVENT.
This year, in addition to quiet time, walks, picnics and a wee bit of reading, I was able to do some new activities too. There was kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing and slalom skiing, high ropes courses, rock climbing, trail running, and even old fashioned runs on the road.
We swam, ate, laughed a lot and played. There were smores and campfires at night and loons to wake us in the morning. It was magnificent. Thanks to Dana Ann and Feast After Famine for the videos and the awesome collection of still photos.
