I really enjoyed this short essay by Jim Vance.
He understands, although he doesn’t say it here, that the water is alive. It responds to the swimmer and speaks too. It gives, has its own mood and oftentimes, its own objectives that are indifferent to what you aim to do during a given swim.
Though I cannot dance any better than I can sing, next time I take a dip I’ll be thinking about dancing with the water.
